How the system works
A Centurion automatic standby generator is permanently installed outside and connected to
your home’s natural gas or liquid propane fuel supply. The generator is connected to an automatic
transfer switch which in turn is connected to your home’s main distribution panel.
- The generator monitors incoming utility voltage around the clock.
- When utility power is interrupted, the generator immediately senses the problem and starts automatically.
- The automatic transfer switch safely closes off the utility line and simultaneously opens the emergency power line from the generator.
- Within seconds, the generator begins supplying electricity to the home.
- When utility power returns, the automatic transfer switch closes off the emergency line from the generator and seamlessly transfers power back to the utility.
